Feeling the Earthquake

Today at work in New Bern, NC, I felt a shelf that I was standing by shaking. I was taking work from that shelf and thought maybe something was going on in the building to make it shake. As I walked across the floor to another area, everyone was asking if I felt a shake. I told them yes. Some people felt a hard shake from tables and chairs. Some people did not feel anything at all. It's amazing how something can be going on in one part of the world and you can feel it all the way in your state as well.It was a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that struck Virginia. People at work began to listen to reports on the radio and called to see if their family members were okay.
